The Muhsinah Himma Circle is a year long soul-centered mastermind for women seeking self mastery, spiritual excellence, and nearness to God for His sake.

Himma is a word from the Islamic spiritual tradition that can be understood as the magnetic spiritual zeal of an aspirant on their path to God. This desire to know God and draw nearer to Him is so powerful that it energizes and magnetizes those around them. Just by being in the company and presence of someone yearning, working, and striving for God , our own spiritual levels (maqam) can be elevated, and our desire to strive on the path of purification and love to God can be unearthed, invigorated, and accelerated, by the mercy and pleasure of God.

Knowing God is not a mystery, and neither is knowing ourselves. In fact, they are linked and we have been given clear directions as well as beautiful examples in our Prophet (peace & blessings of Allah be upon Him) as well as extraordinary women in our tradition on how to aspire towards true success in this regard.

In the Himma Circle we center our lives and goals around Allah, His Messenger(pbuh), His book, and we look deeply into our tradition to continue excelling in our capabilities as knowers of God in this world and the next.

We travel beyond the surface of rules and regulations and support each other as we expand our capacity for love, mercy, presence, gratitude, and giving all for the sake of God. We recognize that it was to the spirit of Adam(pbuh) that God taught ‘the name of all things’, and that this deep sense of knowing is an invitation we are all being called to answer.

We recognize that as women our path to spiritual excellence and presence (ihsan) may not look the same as a mans, and so we embrace the divine feminine qualities Allah has endowed us with as a means of intimately knowing Him in our own way.
